Sp6 cam cover plug inserts
Discussion
Hi all
Got some new blue ignition leads from tvr parts having wreked the one on 6 trying to remove (early black version) I have found number 1 and 6 (would have to be that one !!) Do not have that nice click noise when fitting to the point that I have omitted the alloy insert that the plugs run through so I know there on
Anyone else had this ?
And what is the alloy grommet thing for as does not stop water etc ?
Cheers
Phil

I had the same issue. New leads were the problem. Got a proper set from Powers and all clicked on nicely over the plugs and inserts. I’m probably talking b
ks but the outer rubber of the lead made a fairly good seal on the inserts so maybe this is where there is some sort of water proofing. I was sad and measured how far I put my new inserts in to each hole to make sure they were perfect.

Ummh not sure which part you mean, I think you mean the aluminium ring? These plug leads are a bugger. Had a misfire, nagged me for a while until I realised the lead was popping off the plug.... so I use the aluminium “speed six” logo’d plate to hold them on. Addition of a strip of neoprene does the job. Shouldn’t need it but it does wedge em on.
Can’t see it being an issue leaving the ring off. Guess it offers strain relief..?
