Not sure if I have asked this before, but the luggage cover on my touring used to raise a bit when you opened the boot but has stopped doing so.

I presume there is a motor of some sort somewhere that raises the pins in either side of the channels that the cover fixes into?

Has anyone else had this and if so, was it an easy fix?

The instructions for disassembly are here: https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/f11-520d-tou/re...
Looks daunting, but it'll give you an overview of what the mechanism looks like anyhow.
The wiring diagram is here: https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/f11-520d-tou/wi...
You can click on the blue components' names and get more info.

Oh jeez, no thanks! laugh

I’d rather pay someone to take it apart properly, fix the problem and then reassemble correctly, without have various screws and bits of trim left over at the end lol

Thanks for the reply though beer

If you unclip the cover, do the bits either side raise and lower when you open the boot? The guides might just need a good clean, doesn't take a lot to stop them operating.

There are also hall sensors that detect when the cover has been reinserted - no detection, no retraction (in a Paddy McGuinness voice)..
So when you open the boot, the cover should retract. When you take the cover out, the runners will move down. You put the cover back in, and it should retract upwards again. There are a few variables here of course, but personally I'd take the side overs off & see what's happening (or not happening).

Do you have the power bootlid too - and is that working?
The power bootlid and the boot cover share power, so fuses 153 and 183 are relevant in the rear fusebox.

Assuming you mean the pins in the channels, then no they don’t move.

Not got the power boot but will check the fuses anyway.

Holy thread revival batman!

Mines been acting up so replaced the system with one from a breaker, but when I tried it out it all messed and and unraveled.

Does anyone know I can get an image/diagram of how this crap goes back together?
