166 2005 Airbag light troubles
Discussion
Hello,
First post in this sub-forum.
Had my 166 (55) Lusso Ti for around 6 months, it’s a great car albeit only the 2.0 TS ...
Anyway, The airbag light keeps coming on / off and as I believe it is a MOT fail I need to sort it prior to December.
I’ve looked under the seats and pushed the connectors back together which cured it for around 4 weeks but after a fair few miles this weekend it’s back and generally staying on, any ideas?

I had the same issue with my 156 GTA and it also turned out to be the connector under the passenger seat. Have you retried connecting/un connecting both sides again?
After a period when the car was about 10 years old and the light was coming on every couple of months, it hasn't happened since (Its now on the verge of the ripe old age of 17). I have assumed that the contacts got corroded, but the regular reconnecting over a period of about a year had cleaned them. I also don't use it as a load-lugger anymore, so the passenger seat doesn't tend to get moved as much - do your seats get adjusted frequently?
I would certainly look at the connectors under the seat again - this was a known issue with Alfas of that period, and its a potential quick/easy (if not necessarily one-off) cure.
