Star Wars Episode 3 - suitable for young kids?

All four of my kids, ranging in age from 7, 9, 12 and 14 want to see Star Wars Episode Three - having seen the previous movies.

Some commentators have said it might not be suitable for little kids (bit dark), so what is the opinion of those who have seen it? Particularly any parents that have seen it with younger kids.

My five and seven year olds have been to see it... Not bothered in the slightest apparently. Then again, they love watching surgery on TV! I think a lot depends on the individual kids more than their ages.

Our kids are aged 8,9 and 10, and they loved it also, they wern't frightened at all, and they never watch adult films, so are not that thick skinned

You see worse on TV every night.

I wouldn't go again though, The film was quite poor.

My 7 and 9 year olds had no problem with it. I think last week's Dr. Who was *much* scarier.

took my 4 year old to see it and he loved it.

Its not scary and the one scene that is a little gruesome isnt that clear anyway.

It was worth it hearing him imitate the emperor's best lines.

I went to watch it first as I'd heard it was a little gruesome.

I decided that there were a couple of scenes that I didn't want a 4 (nearly 5) yr old to watch (the children being killed and watching someone get set alight).

In the end I got a copy on DVD and skipped those bits (and he loved the rest).

But now you are teaching your kids that copyright violation is ok!

I did feel somewhat guilty. As the film said, copying films will discourage the production of films and damage the industry in the long term.

I should really mail George my 10 quid to make sure he can afford a decent meal, and continue to produce low budget, quality films which push the boundaries ( without cashing in on the potential to sell merchandise to children)
