1 engine 2 race rule and testing
How does the 1 engine 2 race rule cover testing? Do they whip out their race engine and drop a different one in for testing? I ask as at the testing at Silverstone today I noticed one of the Renault's chucking a bit of smoke out of it's right bank under power.
Probably a test car, with a completely seperate engine.
Nothing to do with the race cars, which I would think are just stripped and rebult (chassis, not engine, obviously) between races, leaving test chassis and engines to do the work.
Ah yes, good point. Although there were at least 2 if not three Renaults on track at that point. I had assumed that the three would be the two race cars and T car. Hadn't thought about them having other testing chassis/engines - especially as they're only up in Enstone. Cheers.
They take the engines out.
