What does it mean when.....

....you press the clutch down to get your beloved Tiv out of the garage, only for there to be no pedal resistance at all, and then you can't actually select a gear? Oh, and there's a small puddle under the thing, but I can't quite see where it emerged from? Answers on a postcard! :confused:

Looks like Slave Cylinder has gone, or leak on pipe from master cylinder.

If the puddle is more towards the passenger side, its probably the slave cylinder. Crawl under the car on the passenger side - you'll see the slave bolted to the side of the gearbox.

Not a major job to put right. I used very fine wet 'n dry on the cylinder bore to remove the crap that builds up and fitted new seals. This was a short term bodge and its been fine for months.
