My old man just pick up one of these. £3K, 61,000 miles, 1.6 diesel, 1 owner. Seems to drive really nice, get 65+ to the gallon, looks very weird. It's certainly a big step up from the Panda he used to run.

Having looked at HowManyLeft.com it appears there's fewer than 1000 on UK roads.

Why didn't it sell? Looks? Badge? I think it's quite a decent little thing.

Anyway, does anyone have any points to look out or on these cars? Or general tips? I think it's basically a FIAT chassis and engine, but I'm not sure what.

Yeah it's a restyled, longer Fiat Bravo/Alfa Giulietta basically. Prob a very decent car, especially for rear passengers. Congrats!

Yes, both.

The Lancia brand was either unknown to people, or associated with rusty old heaps from the 70s. Chrysler was always a niche brand but seemed to do OK with americophiles buying PT Cruisers and the like - so a weirdly styled rebadged italian car didn't really hit the mark for them.

Shame really, I like modern Lancias and the quirky styling of these.

It is decent. I don’t believe it’s at all related the the Giulietta- I own one (well, Mrs does). He’s very pleased with, it’s certainly been well maintained.

Just get the proper Lancia grille and badging on it and it will look way way better, in particular the tailgate badge on the Chrysler is just awful. I had a 2 litre for 5 years decent car not a lot of issues, egr cooler is prone to cracking on diesels you will soon know if it has gone!

I'd love to, but they seem to go for quite a lot of money on eBay

If nothing else just remove the tailgate badge!

I always liked the look of these, having first spotted one in France with the Lancia badging.

They are still sold now, as Lancia have made rather the most of doing so. Sold as a very good value motor in italy.

Well I'm pretty sure the Giulietta is based on the Bravo (or FCA had lost all its marbles) so the Delta, then. The Delta share more of the Bravo body shapes than Giulietta tho.

Giulietta is a totally different platform to the Bravo and Delta.

Giulietta = C-Evo platform (only car to use it as far as I can see)
Delta / Bravo = C2 platform

One may well be an evolution of the other though.
