The wheels on my GTI are badly scuffed from the previous owner which spoils the whole look of the car and after checking tyre depths the other day one of them is buckled slightly on the inside so refurbishment is not really cost effective. Has anyone had experience buying what appears to be copies from various allow wheel centres and ebay?

My plan is to replace all 4 along with some decent rubber to go with them.

For example:

They look like patterns of the originals or maybe they are identical, assuming chinese made, are they worth a punt?

Always seems to be an issue getting centre caps to fit with these.

Repairing a mild or moderate buckle isn't generally an issue; if you were closer I'd recommend someone.

Replica wheels probably aren't the single best solution.

Just get them straightened and refurbished. Will be cheaper than buying a new set of replicas.

You can pick up individual genuine wheels off ebay for not unreasonable amounts, if you think a dink in the wheel is serious enough that it can't be fixed/lived with. I paid £185 for one which hadn't been fitted since being refurbished - had a couple of light marks from storage, but you'd not notice unless you were at floor level looking right at it! Means I now have 1 spare wheel (already refurbished ready for use) in case my wife trashes any others......

If you wanted a set, it's worth looking on German ebay as there's loads of specialist sellers of summer/winter sets and shipping isn't usually an issue for them

I’m on the golf 7 owners forum.
The CM wheels reps seem to have a fairly good reputation on there.
