Does anyone own an S8 ?
I am thinking about one for my next purchase and have a few questions ?
Mainly around MPG - what is realistic ? Normal driving, 16 mile commute on winding A-road. Occasional longer journey thrown in.
I would imagine the 30.1mpg claimed is vastly optimistic.
Look forward to hearing.
Cheers

Surprised you've not had any responses to your question, assuming you're referring to the D8 (2012-) model.

There are a number of people on here who leased the car for two years, and some of those like to... occasionally haha... tell you they leased one for £295 a month! Where are they?

I had a drive of a friend's lease in Nov 2015 on some Northamptonshire B roads, but I wasn't paying attention to the DIS during the ten miles back from the firework shop :-)

Would love one but, two dogs and in London dictates otherwise.

Assuming it's D4, here's the thread: https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&... There are reviews and comments.

My average over 20K miles was 24mpg and I did mostly motorways and a bit of commuting on M25 in last few months of ownership. The best I've seen was 29mpg on motorways, the worst 15mpg in town or gunning it down in Europe doing 140mph. All data from tank, not from computer.

Thanks guys.
I’m still torn, can’t get past 24mpg at best, I know I won’t manage that, high teens on windy A-roads makes it unfeasible I think.
Back to the drawing board.

How about A8 4.2TDI? It should do better, still fast, however there's not many of them. A8 3.0TDI is doing around 35mpg but that's no comparison to S8 at all.
