Lesser-known albums you still listen to

I'm thinking of albums that either never really made an impact on release or albums that initially got some attention but have since become forgotten. The main thing is that you still listen to them.

This isn't a list of The Best Forgotten Albums Of All Time, or The Most Obscure Albums That Really Should Have Done Better - its more personal, and is just a way of finding more stuff to listen to. Here's a few of mine...

Certainly not Ten. It was a classic upon release and still is to this day.

I am in the process of unpacking and cleaning my LPs after having had to store them for a few years. Recent unearthed nuggets that seem better to me than I remember their critical reception:

Be-Bop Deluxe - Axe Victim

Steve Hillage - L

Life's Rich Pageant - REM

Wha'ppen? - The Beat

Slow Motion - Supertramp

I have also dug up Sandinista by The Clash which is, of course, famous for being a great single album struggling to get out of a triple...just that people never quite agree on what would go on the single.

Jimmy eat world - bleed American , perfect pop punk , proper sunny day music.

At the drive in - relationship of command , I got this cd when I was staying in Australia, noisy yet tuneful and I still have no idea what there singing about .

Sorry, going to be a dick again. Can't agree with Jimmy. It was a very well received album at release and still regarded as their best, and loved by many to this day. Myself included. Have probably listened to that album on average once a month every month since release. Had hear you me and the middle at my wedding a few weeks back too.

I'm not quite sure what the OP is looking for, but something like "meds" by Placebo was pretty under the radar at release and still brilliant to day.

And "walk the plank" by Mad Caddies might fit into this.

"The wrong people" by Furniture. Well known-ish for "Brilliant Mind", but there's a lot of really good stuff on that album.

And all the Stranglers albums between the last one with Hugh and "Norfolk Coast", which a lot of other people seem to dismiss.

Clearly we’re into the same sort of music but I doubt most of the general population have any idea who jimmy eat world are as they aren’t played on radio 2 or heart

Beatsongs - The Blue Aeroplanes

Bought it in 91 (?) and it still gets plenty of listens. A fantastic band to see live too back then.

Furthest From The Sun - The Family Cat.

The ultimate indie “also rans”. Terrible name and this album has pretty terrible production but the songs hold up.
