Audi A2 fuel leak- is this the fuel filter?

Evening all,

My wife's car, a 2005 1.6 petrol A2, has developed a fuel leak. I think it's coming from this thing- see below. Is this the fuel filter? The hoses either side are dry so I'm wondering if the body of it has been hit by a stone or something.

Anyway I have zero mechanical knowhow so help identifying the part would be much appreciated.

To any clueless souls like me (or those afraid of getting oily), the A2 went into the garage today. It was a leaky fuel filter as you lot helped me diagnose, and it cost £32 to replace.
