Seat Ibiza 17 plate SatNav woes
Discussion
My daughter has an old shape Ibiza 1.2TSi FR tech.
When she got it new it had 12 months free insurance and a compulsory black box.
The Insurance Company behind the Seat Insurance went bust about the time of her insurance renewal and the black box seems to have been deactivated. The problem over the past 6 months has been that the SatNav goes crazy and thinks the car is somewhere else. It sometimes clears and starts working but has been into the Dealer 3 times without getting to the bottom of the issue. They appear not to have a clue about what may have caused the issue.
Trying to think outside of the obvious, could the dormant black box be interfering with the GPS? Alternatively has anyone else experienced these kind of issues?

Sounds like GPS antenna is on the fritz.
Look at the back of the last photo:

That blue connector talks to a one of these:

Obviously the factory one is integrated into loom, roof, blah blah blah but it's basically the same thing. Nothing to stop you buying a cheap antenna and sitting it on the dash to see if it solves the issue.
It is of course (as already pointed out) under warranty and should be fixed FOC but if you're getting nowhere...
