HI All

I've seen the new F90 M5 uses MPS 4S, where the F10 uses MPSS. I always (possibly wrongly) assumed the MPSS were better?

Looking at replacing rears on my F10 but unsure what to go for.

Thanks
Rob

I replaced the fronts with 4S a while back - might as well do the rears then

PS4S supersedes MPSS

I’ve used both interchangeably and can’t really notice any difference in capability but then am not placing the car anywhere near limits of adhesion.

I have noticed MPSS wear better.

I once ran MPSS in rear with PS4S on the front. I needed a set of rears immediately for a foreign trip and at the time the PS4S wasn’t available anywhere. Nobody crashed/burned as a result. In fact the car felt much better for the replacement. Of course it would be optimal as a matter of common sense to run the same on all 4 wheels.

It’s not worth trying to sweat the last few mm out of anything on these cars as performance drops off noticeably once you’re below about 4mm. It’s also common to see inside edges wearing smooth whilst there is still plenty of apparent life left - hard to tell at a glance and needs proper inspections.

I just put a set of MPSS on my car replacing a worn out set of PS4S. Saved about £250 over PS4S and they are BMW * marked. Also had a KDS. The car feels great at 123k miles.
