Yes I've used Colin's Auto Export twice. He's a good guy, not sure what he charged as its all part of the purchase price. On some cars they will do a deliver to your door option all registered...etc.
I've been happy with their service, pretty straight forward and I don't think I've paid too much. I've sold one truck on for a profit. Worth at least having a chat with him. I've not dealt with Skippys but they have a good reputation. From what I understand Skippy's is UK based so not sure how the sourcing side works. Colin is based in the US so does all that himself, so you collect from the docks or I assume has someone in the UK that will do all the paperwork...etc if that's what you want.

Blimey looking at those prices why would anybody even consider buying state side!
With almost 1 $ = 1£ , plus tax and shipping ='s a very expensive venture for a humble Nova........

There was a COPO 69 Camaro clone on Ebay a couple of weeks ago, Looked sharp and straight, proper 427/450 motor, a proper M22
LSD etc, all done and ready to go at low 30's

Thats up there with Daycloners etc, go figure

One problem with that, i want a nova. Getting a good camaro in the uk would be easier, getting a good nova is a different thing alltogether.

The tales of turds covered in glitter from the ole USA are many fold!
and with the current £ to $ , buyer beware, and last week you were going for a 80's 3 box Monte Carlo ,

Few people if any would consider paying 20K plus for a Chevy11/Nova, Dodge Darts, Demons and Dusters are in the same group,
All great fun cars to own and use and just about affordable by normal income buyers,

At the present time its a good time here if your a buyer as prices are sliding, patients is the key, something will always come along,
And unless your paying massive money a car restored or just cleaned up here will almost certainly be better done that a State side job,

Looking at the prices to get a solid nova from the states is mental, more like 30k. I would not pay that as the car would just loose to much money over here. I'm still keen on the monte carlo, its a hell of a car. One issue is that i just cant fit it in my garage
I paid to have a nova inspected in the states yesterday,this cost me £200, the car turned out to be a complete lemon all though the dealer pics looked bang on. The £200 was well spent though as its completely changed my plan. There is no way im bringing one i from the states

Think thats a sensible decision, motor dealers are the same the world over, and who would shell out say 25 K for a late beemer without actually looking at it, yet people seriously consider spending that and more on a 50 year old car 8000 miles away cos it looks cool in the pics ! lol

The whole photo/image thing is also completely subjective , these cars are old, build quality was rubbish , 30 years ago they were worthless,
and apart from a very few really special original cars they will all have been restored to some degree,

This being the case, if said vehicle had been restored something like correctly , it will pretty much last forever, as most are toys, live a a car hole, never get wet etc,

However good resto work aint cheap, and often cost tons more that a finished car is worth, enter the turd in glitter, looks great in the pics, but in the flesh horrible,

These cars need to be viewed! if they pass the main test then go for a ride, once again this part can be a major disappointment,
But buy right and you wont regret it,
Something will always turn up, as stated before patients is the key,,,,,,,,,,,,,, enjoy the search its half the fun,
and spend your next £200 quid on fuel and a nice hotel and view for your self, lol

The problem with Nova's (and Duster's/Demon's etc) is they are not ever worth the full restoration costs in the USA (apart from a real Yenko) so as said, its really buyer beware.

You did the right thing and stumped up for the inspection fee before taking the plunge
