HI All

I pay a reasonable £113 a month for a comprehensive BMW warranty for my F10 M5, 2013, 55k. Out of interest I did a quote from a 2016 730D and is came out at £260 a month.

How can this be? Surely an M5 would be more expensive than a 730d if things go wrong (esp. the engine!) ? The only thing I can think of is that the 7 is less reliable or has more ancillary items that tend to go wrong?

I'm just curious...

Thanks
Rob

Sorry I've just done an update and checked based on mileage:

BMW 730D
Under 60,000 = £261 a month
Over 60,000 = £330 a month

BMW F10 M5
Under 60,000 = £196 a month (not mine)
Over 60,000 = £474 a month!!!

I've found it's difficult to compare like for like with that warranty.

One reason is the price is affected not just by mileage but also if the warranty is a renewal (as yours is) or a new quote (730d) or even perhaps a quote on a car they've never insured previously...
