Hi all,

Curious thoughts of what happens to the value of 991 GT3 Touring once the 992 GT3 Touring goes on sale.

992 GT3 cars will continue running the NA engine and seems like manuals will be available too.

991 GT3 tourings were £120k-ish new with a well spec’d one costing around £140k. Well spec’d examples are now £165k-ish altough these were being marketed @ £190k Just 6mnths ago!! So already we’ve seen a reduction in value in these.

So how much wil these be worth in:

1) 1yr
2) 3yrs
3) 5yrs
4) 10yrs+

They will be worth more then the 992 in due course....small numbers and I think the 991 will be more sort after than the 992 in the future.

Nobody has a clue what they’ll be worth in three never mind 10 years!

At the moment there are lots of things I prefer about the 991 over the 992

Maybe the 991 will be the closest last hoora to all things analogue.

I’m not sure about the high tech dash on the 992 and if that’s pure enough GT car for me

Will have to wait and see how 992 GT’s pan out!

Well I certainly won't be changing my 991.2 gt3 for a 992 gt3.

For the next year it is going to msrp in my opinion, maybe lower. The only caveat is if 992 Touring prices are much higher due to exchange rates.

I could have sold mine for £170k last week. If they go to RRP I would recommend a ‘buy’ position (although I’m liking that new cup holder)!

The goal posts for "analogue" appear to keep shifting. I don't find my Touring terribly analogue - especially when stepping out of one of the 7.2s. But the last proper analogue for me is the 6 GT3/RS - but I should stop thinking about this for fear of getting another GT3

Very true an auto blipping manual that will also flat shift with the help of electronics is stretching the definition!

you don't have to have that on though and it does miss the E-diff and the PDK, but I do agree it's not like the 996 or even my 987.2 Spyder.

It's a good half way house though if you want a NASP modern car with a manual. So it feels more real to drive than anything new which is made going forward and still sounds very real which is a key point.

a sweet spot is the 997.1 GT3 with a set of shocks imo, it's a far nicer car than the 996 GT3 with a far better engine, just remove the PASM. I thought about one, but decided to keep the 991.2 as the engine is just mega and it has the bits I want to do while driving, ie change gear and not have a turbo and does have a nicer balance than the 997's imo.

I don't wish to be too contentious, but I have the GT3 Touring and have found it is a little too highly sprung for a daily. I don't intend to track the car and I love almost all aspects of it, but on average B roads it's too skippy (technical term I know!). I was wondering if you guys had any relative easy/simple ideas to make it a little more compliant and comfortable.

Drive it faster. I find mine is like a speed boat.....drive at 50 top 60 mph on country roads and it flows and floats....drive it at 30 mph and it crashes and bangs.

Failing that you’re in to serious money for an aftermarket suspension kit or if you have Buckets changing them for the Sports Seats.

Check this out...
https://www.dscsport.com/product/v3-controller-por...

It can make normal chassis mode even more compliant... without loosing body control.
They have UK Distros also... such as Nine Excellence and Parr - so maybe give them a call.

You beat me to the punch Tyrone..DSC have just developed a new PASM module for the 991.2GT3 RS as a few owners have said the standard PASM is to soft in Normal mode and too hard in Sport mode..Apparently it works better on both track and rough roads.

+1 - it needs a bit of pace to gel but then it really does

Thanks guys - that's all useful stuff. I live in the Isle of Man so I do drive it pretty hard but I'm afraid of leapfrogging a hedge one day! I had heard of replacing the PASM with one of these controllers, so I will look into it. They look like a simple fit.
