Production has stopped for the STD F90 M5, competition ONLY on new orders, so IF you want a STD M5 get going as stocks are dwindling.
Also great deals are diminishing also.

I was told that by my local dealer but another dealer has placed an order for a standard M5 to be built first week of September and I rang customer services last week and they told me that you can still order standard M5's and haven't been told anything different.

So hopefully I will get my car end of September.

Hope you do, I think September end and that's it, so you just got in , post some pictures when it arrives.

Yes I hope so, I think you could be right and I think they will stop production by the end of September.

I had actually ordered a stock vehicle(from another dealer) and did the deal on the Saturday and then had a phone call Monday to say that the car had already been sold, but I could still order a new one and they would honour the same discount,so I was more than happy as some of these stock vehicles have been around for 18 months and I could have the spec I wanted.

Im led to believe that BMW UK will only get the competition variants of any M car going forward.

Does that mean no manual M3 in the next generation?

Your new car is now in production, so it won’t be long until your BMW M5 Saloon, which is being built to your exact specification, becomes a reality. A chassis number has been allocated and your car is starting to take shape with all your chosen features and finishes.

Just had this email from BMW just over 2 weeks from placing my order!

Yep as proven by the X3/4M only being offered as competition versions in the UK.

But isn't that going to be the basic spec, rather than the Competition? If the UK cars are Competition only, then that's 4WD and Auto only, is it not?

But it sounds like the basic spec isn't going to be available here, ergo no manual UK M3.

That is "in the air" at the moment, there seems to be a lot of buyers keen on that spec here. who knows!.

Not many manual F80 M3's were sold in the UK around 200-300 over 4-5 years
