Anyone taken a punt on one?

Wouldn't touch a US import, is a Japanese one a more 'sensible' way of doing it or still a complete no go?

I’ve had a few. Often tend to be good. Seem to be well looked after. As with anything though, process with caution and get it checked out. Some cars are clocked. If buying from Al Aweer dry dock, get it inspected.

note that the import market at awir is a freezone. hence to get the car out for a PPI you will likely need to pay a deposit.

if the car has come from the JDM auctions, the auction report should be available. this is very comprehensive in terms of grading the condition.

a grade 4 car will put most UAE cars to shame.

i've been looking at a jap import car at awir and planning to go again with a specialist as there's a slight issue with the gearbox and the dealer is doing the whole 'you buy it and i'll fix it' schtick. the current sale price is about 1/3 of what they're going for in europe.
