Gary. desperate to find the code to the safe in Rick's storage lock up....

"Hmmm, I'm guessing it might just be the year when Weatherfield County were incorporated in the 1800's" ffs!

At this rate Gary is going to be the Street's first millionaire....

He's a knuckle dragging idiot who spends his whole life either taking offence or grovelling apology for his latest idiocy .I hope is end is imminent , painful and takes up most of an episode . Loathsome man.

Must have missed an episode somewhere - who did the storage unit belong to originally? And who's Derek?
Thanks.

Quite enjoying Gary's change of fortune.

Thanks.

Derek is a guy who owes loan shark Gary money, rolleyes, so Gary is going to use him in a scam, pretending he (Gary) is a wealthy property investor interested in the factory site, hoping to scam Nick out of the insurance money for the factory.

You really need to catch up on Friday's episodes.

Unlike gobby Beth to miss the factory meeting/vote (and Sinead). They must be stuck in the upside-down again...

Didn't she sell her shares to one of the other workers. Certainly she was negotiating with Sally and Shaun.

I don't think he wants to scam Nick?

He wants to be the hero saving the factory but he also wants to launder the money he found in Rick's lockup. So he ropes Derek into it as a pretend investor and he's going to pay for the factory refurb by hiring Gary to do the job (which is how Gary will explain his new found wealth). Then Nick will pay Derek rent which is going straight back to Gary.

Actually pretty well thought out for Corrie writers

Shame about the actor who plays Gary though, not a patch on the chap who played the great Pat Phelan.

Agreed. His "mumbling to sound hard" is so annoying. I miss most of what he says. No big loss really!

Yes, you are probably right, I figured Nick would give "Derek" the 20k insurance money as part payment towards Derek's investment in the factory rebuild project, Derek would give this money to Gary to clear his debt, then Derek would do a runner leaving Gary looking squeaky clean and 20k richer....

Strange it's never shown "Derek" borrowing any money off Gary before, (Unless I've missed it)

We'll soon find out though..smile

Probably not from Gary but the dead loan shark whatshisname.

How exactly does Gary think he can get away with taking over the loan shark business? The daughter is still around.

Wish you could get enough local (unemployed) contractors and a £100k building scheme up and running in 10 mins after a handshake...
Only on Corrie:-)

And shake hands on a £100k job within a minute, when even householders are advised it's prudent to get three quotes for tradesmen jobs.
