Just picked up a guitar for the first time in 20 years...man do my fingers hurt!!
My boy who is 6 loves watching bands so I thought I would revive my playing days tonight. Cheap acoustic off Amazon...tuned it...banged out Knocking on Heavens Door and his eyes lit up. Fantastic moment.
He is now going to start guitar lessons. Proud Dad moment!

I've tried to learn guitar many times and eventually gave up. Too uncomfortable and difficult.
Last week I bought a digital piano and I'm now teaching myself to play it whilst I learn to read music. It's been a revelation and although it will be a while before my left and right hands can work independently of each other, every little 15 minute session produces progress.
Wish I'd started years ago and not bothered with a guitar, which whilst being way cooler, was just far too difficult to self-teach and make progress.
