Fixed single or fixed double, kids getting older!
Discussion
We are away in our ageing lunar delta - with fold out rear double with bunk single over, and fold out front queen.
We have the front and the girls (9&7) are sharing the rear double as neither likes the bunk, but its not a full double as they are getting bigger it is getting harder.
As much as we love this van it just isn’t quite working for us now.
Fixed singles - they can have one each, but if we go away on our own we would make the big front bed up as the wife prefers to sleep together. So the single beds would be annoying.
Fixed double - they can share the double, or we can have it and they can use the front seats as singles.
As they get older they will probably want to come away with us less, so the fixed double seems to make more sense as we can leave the table set up in the front and not have to faff with awning!
Any ideas or suggestions?

Our girls used to love the inner tent in the Awning, but I have seen some sites where sleeping in the Awning is not allowed now. I have no idea why, but........ I expect it’s blamed on health and safety.
Best arrangement for your family needs is probably fixed singles in the rear, central washroom. Girls are safe at the back, you have some privacy at the front and either can close of the Loo and not have to pass through each other’s space to get to it.
Can be done with a fixed double too if the girls are OK sharing.

You are in the exact position we were in a few months ago, except our kids are 12 (boy) and 10 (girl). The kids were initially in the back, alternating nightly on the small double and bunk. That was fine until they reached 10 and 8 when my son no longer wanted the bunk due to the size.We have the front and the girls (9&7) are sharing the rear double as neither likes the bunk, but its not a full double as they are getting bigger it is getting harder.

We settled on a fixed twin layout and it works for us, there`s a lot more storage and the kids have their own beds. We share the front bed. We recently went away without the kids and it still worked fine, we just walked past the fixed beds and stored some stuff on them rather than under them.
We tried using the fixed beds one night, it was fine for me but my wife is like a starfish when she sleeps so found it a bit narrow (plus she kept hitting the side of the van when turning over).
My wife wont sleep in the awning and she wont let the girls sleep out there either!
I think i am swaying towards the fixed singles, there is a nice bailey unicorn cadiz next to us. Got chatting to him and he let me had a look around, felt much bigger inside but didnt look it outside compared to ours!

Just moved from bunks at the rear, and centre washroom in a Swift sprite Major 6TD to a Swift sprite major 4 EB. With fixed rear bed and central washroom.
The kids currently sleep each side of the sofa but with the washroom running access the van, the feeling of privacy and defined space for us as adults is really good.
The washroom across the middle of the van works really well too.
