What a great finish to the race, great to see Briton Dan Wheldon win (4 wins out of 5 races this year), Formula One beckons? But what a performance from Danica Patrick, qualified 4th, stalled once in the pits, 360 spin losing her nosecone during a big incident during the race but leads 18 laps at the end is overtaken by Wheldon 5 laps from the end and in conserving fuel drops to 4th at the flag.

First lady to lead the 500 and highest ever placed. Well Done Danica

I was hoping she'd win it .. unfortunately the fuel gamble didn't pay off ...shame the yellow didn't come out a few laps earlier. Still outstanding result ... especially given the problems she had earlier on.

As always the IRL delivered an outstanding spectacle.

Congratulations to Dan Wheldon - that's quite a victory to have on your CV.

Yes, great win for a Brit. First since Graham Hill???

I hope Dan Wheldon doesn't go into F1- because he wont start with a tope team, and people will write him off. Stay in he US and win!

And I wont mention the crash Dancia caused...

Sarah Kavanagh would have won. Too bad she is too busy getting ready for Formula One to actually race!

Dario led the 500 for sometime as did several others! I can't remember how many times the lead changed but all the details are here:

It is also worth listening to WIBC on the net.

However Bernie wont let them broadcast the US Grand Prix on the net!

Er...Justin now drives for RuSport..And finished 3rd in qually for the Millwaukee Mile - Not bad for only his 3rd outing on an oval.

Well done to Dan on a superb drive in the 500.
