Did anyone notice? Well the times mentioned it on Mondyay- 2 small columns, no photos, below an article about cross-country running.
Still, there's always football...
Full page in the sports section of the Daily Mail today and there will no doubt be plenty of coverage in our local rag (he comes from Emberton which is about 10-15 minutes from where I live). Congrats to Dan!
Saw the highlights program on TV in the small hours a couple of days ago.
Dreadful coverage.
Very poor picture quality was bad enough but they kept cutting huge chunks out of the race with no explanation.
Danica Patrick had a couple of incidents during the race? You wouldn't know from the coverage until the commentators mentioned it as the race finished under a yellow.
The commentary was pretty awful as well. Made James Allen sound like a genius.
Still, it looked like a cracking race.

I didn't like the sour grapes coming from some of the male racers, who, unable to find it in themselves to say anything positive about Danica Patrick’s run to fourth in the 500, could only bitch. Miserable pair Tony Kanaan and Robby Gordon could only moan about the weight advantage of the petite Miss Patrick. Kanaan whinged that her weight advantage was equal to about 10 gallons of fuel, while Robby Gordon said that he would not race against her until the IRL ‘do something about this advantage’. Well, may I politely suggest that Mr Kanaan perhaps sheds a few pounds and that Gordon should maybe just stick around with his redkneck NASCAR buddies, They won't have no God damn woman racer there boy..

PS: Anyway - good racer or not, weight advantage or not, she's a damn sight easier on the eye than Jacques Villeneuve.....
