The last of the remaining Few to turn 100 years old, has passed away only hours after turning 100.

That only leaves 5 of The Few remaining, 3 x Hurricane pilots, 1 x Spitfire pilot and 1 x Beaufighter pilot.

I saw him at Old Warden just a few weeks ago when thousands of spectators gave him well deserved standing ovation. RIP Archie.

I've just seen that it been belatedly reported that at the time of this, they were already down to 5, as the last Spitfire pilot John Hart, from Canada, had actually died a month prior, at age 102.

So, The Few are now four.
