Me again! Sorry for being that Newbie who posts loads of threads asking so many stupid questions, but not sure where else to to turn!

Where should I be looking to get the car serviced when the time comes? I've had a Mitsi Evo 6 for years, and always took it to a specialist Evo tuner rather than a Mitsi dealer.....is that the same for a Corvette here in the UK? Or would you trust 'normal' garages to do regular services?

take it to ian allen official corvette dealer in virginia waters behind wentworth golf course, dont be put off that its a tin shed selling ssang/yongs and old saabs, brilliant service, you wont want to trust anybody else to do dry sump oil change,it could cost you your engine, only downside is you will need to rob a bank for the price of a coffee in village

What's the trick with a dry sump oil change?

I did one a couple of years ago on my Stingray (between services) and I thought as long as you drained it via both drain plugs it's ok? I didn't experience any issues afterwards, but now you've worried me that there's something I'm not aware of?

Think is just referring to the nuances of measuring the oil level in a dry sump engine, to ensure it’s filled back up to the correct level.

If you drained as you described and filled up with the manufacturer’s stated oil capacity (minus maybe 0.5l-0.75l to allow some fine tuning after first start / measurement) you’ll be absolutely spot on 👍

correct, most people dont get the dry sump level, its measured at hot temp, ive seen a ferrari 360 that they overfilled cold and the oil destroy the cats, id rather leave it to the experts as they probably have a hydraulic transfer pump system

oil & filters, spark plugs, tyre pressures...why would you pay someone to do that?

So that I don't have to do it myself on the side of a public road in central London?

Well in that case, yes Surbiton will be better and you will be able to get to the Fairmile Inn in Cobham for the Surrey Corvette Club meets.
