Best Grand Prix for ages
Discussion
I haven't watched F1 for ages because I thought it was far to predictable. Just watched the Nurburbring race and it was absolutely fantastic, so much more interesting than last season or the season before.
Shame about Raikonnen's crash on the penultimate lap but I suppose that had to be expected given the state of the tyres.

Raikonnen's right front was vibrating so much (after a couple of lock ups) it destroyed the suspension and he crashed off on the last lap
cool
, still you need a crash or something like that to make it exciting
give me dtm, btcc anyday over f1 for exciting RACING, doesnt need to be an accident for those to be exciting

Well it didnt need the crash. Alonso was hunting down at just the right pace for a last lap duel. Infact would have preferred Kimi staying on to see what would have happened.

But what a knob James Allen is, grrrrrr, when Kimi's wheel came off the guy is shouting in a such a manner of 'I'm not a racing drver but I know im right'.
Usually he doesn't bother me that much, but when Raikonnen hit the barriers he was screaming "See, I told you so, I told you so"
Yeah whatever

It wasn't exciting because of the accident... With 6 laps to go, Alonso was behind by 6 seconds and was gaining a second a lap (more or less). 5 laps to go, 5 seconds behind. 4 laps to go, 4 seconds behind. Will he be able to take him? 3 laps to go, 2.5 seconds... He is 2 seconds behind and closing when the suspension blows apart.
Fortunately I got to see it in Spain, so I didn't have annoying commentators, but I did have psycho ones who were going nuts for the last 10 laps (which also makes it fun...)
I agree - great race.
Does anybody else feel it was Montoya to blame for the first corner incident? Yes Webber locked up (as a reaction) but JP came from the outside and was intent on crossing Webber and Trulli to hit the apex!? I was gobsmacked when Webber shouldered the blame himself.
Gruffy

ok i admit it must have been a little exciting, but i wouldnt exactly call it a good race, i mean i'm sure alonso was catching because of the problem with raikonnen'car. and the other racing (BTCC & DTM) have much more exciting racing all the way through.
i dont mean to offend anyone here, but it may have been exciting for those last few laps, but whats half a races worth in total of exciting racing in the whole season, not much when compared to other racing which can be edge of your seat stuff for the whole race

Had a terrible second (when the maclarens suspension flew (exploded) apart and the wheel came back) like a flashback to Imola and Senna.......
I thought the same thing!
Thank god for those tethers!
Was a good race, F1 entertainment value is DEFINITELY on the up this year, esp after last year!
