Shipping brakes to USA from UK?

Think I can sort the shipping ok but will I incur import charges when doing so? Don't want to agree an acceptable cost for the brakes only to incur massive and unexpected import charges? How is it worked out anyway, weight or value or something else?

Same as buying anything outside of the EU.

This is sending from UK to the USA though. Will the USA charge me (the person who posts them) anything to do so eg import / export taxes of some sort?

Still trying to find best / cheapest / quickest shipping route! The kit is about 30kg in weight and the box is about 40cm x 40cm x 40cm. Value is about £2k.

That’ll likely be quite expensive I’d have thought, especially for a quick turn around.

The receiver will likely be issued an invoice for whatever taxes are due before they deliver the shipment.

If you're shipping to the US, don't worry about import charges. In most cases they'll get delivered do your door without any duties paid. Only time that did not happen is when I shipped $1400 with of parts (sheet metal so large) from Norway and was assessed $80 in import taxes. If you're not a citizen, bring your green card or they might yell at you

Ok so shipping sorted. I now have various "labels" + a customs invoice ... what goes on the box and in the box and what do I simply just keep for myself?

Nothing goes in the box, there should be a clear plastic envelope that you stick the label in, everything else goes in the envelope with the label so that they can inspect it without opening the box.
