As the scheme needs to be self financing cost could be £300 per person.

This doesn't sound like a government project does it, costs soaring as the extent of it unravels?

Also, now that even the government can't sell the idea so easily on the prevention of terrorism tag, they're now trying the benefit fraud prevention excuse. The only trouble is, is that most benefit fraud is about fiddling the claimant's occupation, not identity.

Blair has already been accused of 'sexing up' the terrorist threat to sell this scheme.

So you have to ask yourself - what are they *really* for? Why, control of the native population of course.
