Checking an Audi's service history

Hey, does anyone know if you can call and check an Audi's service history, BMW had (have?) a phone number you used to be able to call. I'm doing a bit of background on a car and want to check the SH.

You used to be able to do it by the Customer Services number but last time I called I was told that you now have to get it by calling a dealer.

Of course the dealers are used to handling these requests by transferring you straight back to Customer Services. If you haven't already bought the car then why not put it back on the toes of the seller to provide any service history.
