Overturned caravans spotted today.

When I was a kid my mum and dad owned one of these glorified portaloos and we took it down to Cornwall every year.
One year saw my old man lose control as the Volvo 340 (yes, caravan and dodgy Volvo hatchback - oh the shame!) had a blowout on the A30, on a Saturday at the beginning of the holiday season. The car and caravan smacked the central reservation but neither flipped. We did cause the A30 southbound to be closed for a good while whilst police and fire engine turned up to recover it to the hard shoulder (we were all fine by the way)
Then, just as the fire engine pulled off and traffic flow resumed, I realised I could smell a distinctive gas smell. The police closed the carriageway again and recalled the fire engine who had to loop back around the next junction. Of course it turned out to just be a leak from one of the LPG bottles in the front of the van. Whoops.
Needless to say I think they are the work of the devil, as I'm sure do the hundreds of cars stuck in the resulting tailback.
