Audi just updated their current A4 with some minor tweaks to the exterior, including the removal of traditional exhaust exits and replaced with ones in the bumper. Now they’ve replaced this with a much bigger update that you can spec on the Audi.de. I was hoping that we would get a a6 like interior with some touch screens that were not like big iPads. However they’ve added a 10 inch touch screen on the dash that looks even more of a mess than then outgoing model. Externally a few new panels and this stupid new gap between the top of the grill and the bonnet like you’ll see on the a1. Looks a shambles. I guess it’s a mid life update rather than a new car but they’ve missed the mark to my eyes

Agreed. The last nice looking A4 was the B8 pre-facelift imo.

Is the touch pad standard or can it be deleted? I'm due to swap my A4 this year, but can't abide the touch pad in my wife's new A1. I want knobs, and switches.

I'll be honest, the fundamental ergonomics in the '88 Quattro are much better than the A4. Maybe time to transfer my brand loyalty – Audi just seem to be going backwards.

10 inch touch pad is standard stuck on the dash. Rotary wheel has been removed by the gearstick. German guys at work have been specing a few, they had so many options we don’t get in the UK.

I’m coming off the lease wagon I think. Nothing really floats my boat that I can afford. For the money I can get through 4 or 5 older cars around the £3000 mark that I’ve always fancied driving over the next 2 to 3 years

Gear stick / selector hasn't moved from the MY19 facelift, the rotary dial, radio station and menu buttons have all gone and been replaced by a somewhat useless storage cupboard. TBH not really sure what is behind the MY20 facelift having come only 12 months after the MY19 facelift.

The rear exhaust trims in the bumper are fake on the right on hand side if you go for the TDI's, on the left side is either a single round pipe or a dual outlet round pipe cut back to finish before the bumper trim. On the TSI's both sides actually have a single round pipe exhaust cut back to finish before the bumper trim.

All in all a bit of half arsed face lift where the drive train bits have been butchered to fit behind the styling.

Just googled it to see what the fuss was about and I have to say I agree.
The front end looks terrible!

A work colleague has got a new 19 plate Audi a4 estate with the fake bumper exhausts. The biggest issue he has with it is a 30 litre fuel tank....

Agree, it's a step backwards from a styling perspective. The gap between the bonnet and the bumper looks terrible. Not a fan of the new headlights and tail lights either, with the vertical slashes in them. Looks overstyled and fussy.
