In fact, you will know if the air conditioner is running when cold air comes out of the middle jets.

The air conditioning system is driven by a belt, so the idling speed can drop when the air conditioning compressor is switched on and is therefore "under load".

Clicking means that the magnetic switch presses the pulley, which always runs with it, and the compressor is driven.

However, the air conditioning system must be filled with climatic fluid (type R134a, quantity: 725cc) and oil (type: Pag46, quantity: 60cc), otherwise it will not run. It has normal connections, so that every ordinary air-conditioning operation can fill the system.

The warm air and cold air distribution is set via the display. The flap is adjusted and the air distribution is regulated. It must be set so that no (warm) air comes out of the upper jets under the windscreen when the setting is cold, but only cold air comes out of the middle jets.

If the air condition works and is set to cold, then ice-cold air comes out of the middle jets.
