Hi. Toying with idea of buying something like a v8 camaro as a toy.

Never had an American car before, so was wondering if you cam get classic car like policies on limited miles ?

If anyone has say a 2014 one of these them how much is it costing them to insure

You can get mile limited insurance policies (mine is 3k a year), where you might struggle is most if not all insurance companies that will insure a US import ask what LHD experience you have in this country, with you having none (i'm assuming?) they will most likely insure you but at a premium.

Chris, if it's an 'official UK car', then do an insurance comparison site search - eg moneysupermarket, gocompare etc..
My UK 'Vette is insured with Admiral who were cheaper than any 'specialist'. Limited to 3K miles/year.

2013 UK spec Camaro V8 convertible, £300-odd a year... Actually up from when I bought it a couple years ago, was less than the then 8y/o 3MPS I'd chopped in against it.

Hello. Good call re admiral. I have 3 cars already insured with them. They came back with £192 for a 2013 v8 camaro.

Footman james who ive classic with said would have to be 10+ years old.

That's great - now get one bought...!
Oh and my premium is £315 for a UK 2018 Corvette Grand Sport, 3k miles/yr for a value of £75k & protected NCB.
Like many 'Vette owners, I am in my 50's (and I have a with a clean licence and no claims)...!

I've struggled to get insurance anywhere other than Adrian Flux for my Expedition as it's an import V8 4.6L that none of the usual insurers want to touch.
I don't have limited mileage like some of the classic car insurers want.
Anyone know of more insurers than the ones listed here that will take on a yank tank?

Just paid £307 for my supercharged Mustang GT with Brentacre - agreed £20k value, limited 3k mileage.

It would be cheaper but it is extensively modified.

Mine is only a V6 Camaro (2010 model), but costs me about £250 a year through Admiral multi car, on a 3000 miles a year with 3 years NCB.

I think. Thereabouts anyway.

Not a lot of money really, and couldn't get another insurer anywhere near admiral prices.

I second A-Plan, I've got all my cars daily and toys insured through them. Easy to deal with and great price.
