Cheap motorsports clubs S.Wales

Was looking to finally get my racing license and join a low-budget series, in South Wales ideally. Any ideas? I'm open to road-legal, cheap single seaters and rally, anything I can get on a budget. I'll even take karting if the expenses are that much lower than proper motorsport since I've got a track within 5 mins of me, even if I never did understand the karting line

Go road Rallying, Wales is the capital of the world for the sport. Best bang for your buck you will ever get in motorsport.

Seems pretty scary due to no run-offs and ditches either side of the road, but if it works it works. Do you have to join a motorsport club to access those events and have a race cage or is it more akin to rallycross where it's mostly just fast-ish road cars?

Yes you need to join an MSA club and normally you would need a Nat B non race competition licence. Costs about £45.00 no Bars test or anything.

Cars are generally modified hatch backs, most will have cages and harnesses but there is no rule saying it’s needed. A standard car can compete out of the box, but given how rough some of the roads are and the speeds involved it’s probably not wise, could be ok as a starter if you drive within its capability.

Cars are restricted to a maximum of four cylinders and no turbos for engines larger than 1.5.

If you're set on circuits, Pembrey does some events. Their fees are pretty reasonable too for circuit racing.

Join the Welsh Racing Driver Association. They organise the Welsh Sports and Saloon Car Championship, principally at Pembrey but also this year at Mallory and Silverstone.

Cheap fees and close wheel-to-wheel racing with club members funding their own cars
