Alonso and McLaren part ways

Not a big shock to be honest.

Using Alonso's decision making whoever now drives a McLaren at Indy will win it.

He's just cutting all his existing ties so that he can sign for Ferrari again...

Whether this is true or not is another point. McLaren is saying nothing has changed.

You cant blame him, he wants to win Indy and would have to commit to years of INDY to do so in a Mac, he cant be arsed and I don't blame him, they were miles away this year. And he wants to do other things, maybe even away from racing.

Far better to go proven, and any team out there would sign him for Indy, literally any team.

I bet mclaren are pleased to be rid of him. Amazing driver but it seems to me, toxic to the people/teams around him.

'GPFans' are one of the least trustworthy sources going. Proven once again in regard to the McLaren Alonso split- both parties having now denied it.

It is just spectacular, isn't it? You couldn't write it!

Alonso, bleeding profusely from the injury in his face where his nose once was, the appendages at the ends of his legs more bullet hole than foot, having irrevocably alienated just about everybody in the paddock that he's ever worked with apart from Flavio Briatore (lol), crawls to Red Bull's door and stakes his claim as the team's salvation rofl

Do Indicar teams run a 3rd car for the 500? Just thinking if he did go to an established team for a drive would they have to kick out one of their drivers who is fighting for points in the championship.

Bloody marvellous assessment.

Care to have a stab at his Le Mans exploits ....someting about brining a gun to a knife fight and when the other gun starts to look bigger, they remove the bullets!

Teams aren't limited to the number of cars they can run, some teams do and have run 4, 5 or 6.

Alonso's timing and good fortune have been unbelievable at Le Mans, and that in itself is highly ironic.

A little-known fact about Alonso: he has spent much of his spare time in the past 15 years or so storm chasing. He had some close calls but sadly was never quite in the right place at the right time. Ultimately, he packed it in and took up gardening- and it was in his garden that he was struck by lightning twice in quick succession.

Will never happen as mentioned above, but still, Max and Fred in identical cars? I'll get the popcorn...

Love it!

A phrase levelled at another driver (can't remember who) but could apply to FA is one who starts to see light at the end of the tunnel and quickly orders more tunnel.

Either sound brilliant to me. Bring it on.
