Dsg remap mk6 golf 100k
Discussion
Hi guys after a bit of advice in regards to this.
My mk6 tdi golf 1.6 has 105bhp. It takes a while to get going and is pretty sluggish. I've had a few quotes from remapping by me that claim to take it to around 150bhp with a torque increase of 184 to 235.
My first question is has anyone with similar car or bhp increase is the difference pretty noticeable?
Not really sure how good dsg remapping is and how the gearbox handles the increase in power?
Car has done 105k which is a concern to me on the effect it will have the company has reassured me so long as my car is serviced properly which it is then I'll be fine.
I should note that having done 105k I had a new cam belt water pump and gearbox (3 grand fix 😑) after mine failed all at around 100k.
Do you think I'll be ok with the remap?
Thanks

It's been asked a lot before if you search, especially on the Briskoda forums.
The consensus is that the DSG clutches will have more wear, regardless of anything else. (?) There's also the possible hostile reception from insurers if you tell them, and rejection of a claim if you don't and the remap is discovered.
I had a Mk5 2.0 TDi which I got Revo'd. It added extra smiles, but it was expensive.
The other option is one of the better tuning boxes. Had a BlueSpark box on a Volvo D3 which was a slightly better option as it could be removed in minutes, and also fitted to the next car with a £60 upgrade from BlueSpark.
I haven't added either with the current VAG 2.0 TDi, the possible backlash from insurers was the main reason, along with the dry clutch 7 speed DSG in the car. With repairs at around £600+ I figured it wasn't worth the (slight?) possibility of having to deal with DSG problems.
