Afternoon all,

I'm just after some buying advice, I'm looking for a 2015 RS6 Avant - are there does anyone have any recommendations of what I should be looking out for?

What optional extras are worth it, Dynamic park? 360 camera? etc.

Many thanks.

Go onto RS246.com, you will find plenty of useful advice there and quite a range of opinion. Most will tell you to go for facelift if budget allows, big debate on dynamic pack and if you intend to tow you must go for air suspension.

I have a 2017 PE, I specced DRC but not the dynamic pack because I didn't want dynamic steering, I also wanted to avoid all the braking assist stuff as I hated it on the RS4. Good luck.

Asked fairly often around here too.

Panoramic sunroof, 21s, Sport exhaust all desirable.

Black leather preferable to silver, a lot of people like Black styling package.

Front discs last 20-30k only and are expensive to replace, 21s can buckle but are repairable.

I prefer the standard air suspension to DRC; it's firm enough but gives great ride comfort and suits the car's character well. DRC when pushed extremely hard (apparently) offers ultimate body control but I don't tend to push 600 BHP cars the size/weight of an elephant that hard.

Overall quality is excellent, they're damn good cars and in the last ~6 months prices seem to have come down to earth too.

Can't help much with the question other than they are absolutely lovely cars. I have say if it was my money I'd have a hard time deciding between and rs6 and an e63, which is also a fantastic thing.

To respond further given the esteemed Dr G's response, pan roof is nice but don't let it get in the way of a good deal. I drove air and DRC and went for DRC but it was close, just that there's a little less body roll with DRC, even at sensible speeds and this is a heavy car. I would recommend the surround view, but add that I have now kerbed every corner!

It is a great all rounder, very fast and comfortable with acres of space and my family love it, but it's not very nimble and there's the catch. Now the kids are just about fledged I think I will downsize next time, but I really love the RS6 and highly recommend one.

I have the roof and had it on my last RS4, but when I was speccing my current car the salesman (who is almost a mate) suggested I ditch the roof. I happen to like it but he didn't think it worth the money. If I was in the second hand market I'm not sure it would be a deal breaker for me, but I get where you're coming from.

They do sell without (priced accordingly) but it is a desirable option.

I took all Dr G’s advice when I bought mine earlier this year. He wasn’t wrong.

Is colour an issue?
On the 246 forum I saw a thread saying avoid white and red, as these were difficult come resale.

Thanks!

Onto insurance quotes now, cheapest I've found it is around £1K, I'm 45 and 15 no claims - what is everyone else paying?

Never understood the lure. Makes no difference to me whether pan or not. Pity there's no 'new' model saloons about, or I'd consider one.

£1300 but I’ve had 2 claims in the last 5 (one fault one none). Using it for business and community - 25k per year.

Mine feels expensive in comparison, 15 years no claims and 8k per year including business.

Got a quote from LV for 880 (earlys 40's male, max no claims, midlands area) by comparison my S6 was 700

A tracker doesn't seem to make any difference but if you have the adaptive cruise control is will save you ~150 as it includes AEB (Autonomous Emergency Braking)
