B8 A4 2.0TFSI Q: Trade-in or Private sale?
Discussion
looking to 'trade up' to B8 S4 in next few months from my '09 A4.
Issue is trying to gauge market value for my existing car when there appears to be only one or two (if even) versions for sale.
It's the Quattro S-Line Avant in Manual 209bhp (see pic) - so all boxes ticked so to speak.
Is there much, or enough of, a desire for this spec to get somewhere in the £5k region for it?
Or should I just except it'll be lumped in with the going rate for a 2009 A4?

Mine sold to a guy for £5600. Was after a bit more but had one unsuccessful Ebay attempt already for slightly lower (glad that sale never went through!) So done a deal with this guy. Spec below.
2008/58
70,000 miles
Quartz grey metallic
2.0TFSi 211PS
Manual box
Pretty standard S Line with the addition of electric boot. No Bose, heated seats, nav, bluetooth, cruise, full leather etc. So not a well specced car from new.
Yours may be a better spec car and obviously has the quattro system but it is nigh on twice the miles so think 5k will be at the absolute top of your offers I'm sorry to say.
Hope this helps.

cheers guys - appreciate the feedback. Yeah 5k would be a good result. Tradies offering 3.5k just hurts my man maths too much!
Bought it last year with 127k on clock for €5,650 down south coast and had to drive it that day all way over to Pembrokeshire/Wales in 32degree heat wave - didn't miss a beat.
Just having had a B5 S4 2001 Avant (Hibiscus Red!) this car, though very capable, just couldn't come close to the special'ness(?!) of S4 ownership

I think 5k would be an amazing result, with the miles I would be happy with a price of 4k. Bought it last year with 127k on clock for €5,650 down south coast and had to drive it that day all way over to Pembrokeshire/Wales in 32degree heat wave - didn't miss a beat.

And with regards to the s4, I'm not surprised. I didn't gel with mine at all. Much prefer the Octavia vRS TSi I've got instead. Significantly better car all round IMO.
