We have toured the EU quite a bit now with car and caravan. And in the last 3 years had a small campervan for 3 months in both OZ and NZ, (which we loved). Sold the caravan as double the $$ on ferries/tolls etc.
We now would like to buy a campervan, (Citroen relay/Boxer/Transit size) with a fixed rear bed, loo etc. BUT when we had the caravan, we would unhitch, drive/shop/sightsee etc and grin as we passed the motorhomer folks waiting at the bus stop. (I'm joking)......and obviously thats a bit of a bummer if theres no bus to the town or beach or whatever and I dont want to pack up and go and unpack on return.......

Sooooooooo the thought is 1, If we can find one a campervan with a small garage for a scooter, or 2 and most likely, the ability to hang a small bike on the back.

Anyone been there, seen it, done it.

Electric bike? Either MTB or foldable commuter type. You can remove the 15mph limit and charge when you're in a camp site with suitable facilities.

Electric bike.....as in pushbike?? Then we have to get 2, and the cost...............Was thinking of more a small scooter like a suzuki 110, they weigh around 110 kg and the rack is another 20.

And speed limits, and something else to maintain.

You'll need to go over 3500kg if you want to carry a motorbike or scooter unless you tow it.

Got to be a pair of ebikes, all the way. Surely they'll be cheaper than a scooter too. They also have the advantage that you don;t have to worry if you have had a couple of glasses of wine.

You can get pretty decent commuter type ebikes for way less than a grand now.

Speed limits not affected at all. neither a reversing camera. Not an issue in the slightest.

Nowhere near 3500kg. Not even close. A small motorbike and ball hitch rack are 15okg max.

I meant with the trailer. If you don't want to do 60+ or use the outside lane (or just ignore the limits anyway wink ) it's not an issue

You can get them fixed to a bar attached to the chassis. The wheels are like a supermarket trolley,go any direction,so reversing isn’t a problem.

Yep, googled it and the extra length involved is a no starter mate. Notwithstanding the trailers are e2600.

You don’t mention budget. What you want will cost and struggle to be under 3500kg.I have never seen a scooter on a standard tow ball.
May be a motorsport converted van is an option but they are usually lwb and high roof.

Smiffy, theres hundreds for sale, you need to get out more. Citroens/ Boxers/Transits ALL are high and LWB, around 6m long. Weight, way under 3500kg even mega fully loaded. Kerb weights are under 2k. Cost. Decent vans are around 10-15k.

An example

Obviously owning three ebikes and three motorcycles and being involved in the scooter trade I clearly know f—k all about the subject.

Ebikes cost thousands if you go for posh mtbs and so on. My parents have a pair of cheap ones for their motorhome that were about 600 each. Get them all over.

Good luck with the sort of bike you’ll get for £500. rofl
