BMW 740e 40k off list price

I Picked up my new 740E this week from BMW Romford,
this is my first step into PHEV but I must say this thing is impressive!
the standard equipment spec is unreal along with a few nice options ect ect
6k miles on the clock, and its lost 40k of its original value 40k!!!!!!!!
who buys one of these new????
anyway just wanted to show my new car and to say I love it.

To be honest no one will have paid 80k new. The discounts available on A8/S/7 are unreal. Often 0% PCP with large deposit contributions and 20-30% off list price.

Great looking car. I love the interior colour too.

With the ever-increasing popularity of SUVs, seeing a nice the luxury saloon is a bit of a treat. The current 7 has such great proportions.

How many MPG are you seeing? What size is the battery?

And does BMW have an autopilot system yet?

List price was £68k, guess closer to £80k with options.

Did you really "only" pay £40k for that??

yea I think it was just over 80k new,

£37k I paid, 6k miles, fully loaded heated massage seat ect ect

not sure on the battery size, I get about 20miles in full EV mode from fully charged, its enough to get me through london and then recharge on the motorway the other side, realistically its 45-65mpg

They are bargains for sure. There used to be a time when all MD's had a 7 series or S class .. times have changed and its mainly Range Rovers! They are great cars, my Dad had a few during my formative years. Isn't there a new model out soon?

Agreed. I searched for brand new 740e and without even haggling BMW dealers were offering 31% off the list price if you take out PCP, making it £52k brand new, rather than the £77k "list" price.

So if the OP paid £37k for his lightly used one, then it's lost around £15k, not £40k. Still a good nearly new buy.

The 740e has the same 9.2-kWh battery as the 530e.

BMW have replaced it with the 745e though, which has a larger, 12.0 kWh battery, offering a few miles more range.

Plus the replacement model comes with a 3 litre turbocharged 6 cylinder, rather than the 2 litre turbocharged 4 cylinder in the 740e.

Apparently BMW realised the 4 cylinder engine didn't offer the refinement and effortless performance that is expected in luxury cars like the 7 series.

MB also put a 3 litre turbo engine into their 560e.

These are stonking value and such nice places to be.

If you’re planning on keeping it for a while, they could actually stack up better than a 5 series.

I just wish I could look at the latest one in a few years’ time, but that grille makes it an absolute no-no

Do like these, we had one at the office for a while, great car but does get thirsty on longer motorway runs.

As most 7 Series I see have a “Y” at the start of the plate they are either rental of BMW group cars hence so many being available after 12 months.

I'd be interested to see what the overall MPG is, the 740e only has a 4 pot which is small for a big car.
