Anyone here seen this yet?

For those of you who don't know, it's the eagarly anticipated ultra-violent comic book style film noir with an amazing cast (including Benicio Del Toro, Mickey Rouke, Bruce Willis, Clive Owen, Elijah Wood...) and made by the same people behind Dusk Till Dawn and the El Mariachi/Desperado series.

All the reviews I've read so far are glowing and I for one can't bloody wait!

The Sin City comic is fantastic! Any movie will spoil it (says she after having thoroughly enjoyed the version of Hellboy wich is another great comic illustration-wise)... ah well, I´ll watch it though, I´m easily pleased

Watched this for the first time a couple of months ago.
Have since acquired it on DVD, and have watched it twice.

The best comic adaption I have seen.
Actors are the spitting image of their comic counterparts, especially Mickey Rourke (Marv).

Cheesy dialogue, over the top violence and action, and Jessica Biel!

The black and white film and the use of blood is very well done.

It also hints at some of the other Sin City books, which I hope they will make into films.

Definately worth watching!.

Its absolutely fantastic! I can't believe how good it is.

Its not PC so lots of critics have panned it. They also denounce it for its very styleised violence.

Girls are all hookers men are all violent murderers.

And its absolutely stunning. Mostly in Black and white with odd flashes of colour.

Mickey Rourke is a revelation. He is absolutely perfect in the role as Marv. Del Torro Is also great but hardly recognisable due to make up.

And Jessica Alba dancing. What more do you want in a film? Stunning women some naked and ultra violence by the bucket load.

If you are used to the towned down namby panby films they make these days you will be shocked.

No I think you will be suprised It is probably the best transition of comic to film yet made. Don't forget Frank miller was heavily involved in its making

Saw the trailer prior to Star Wars III, probably the best bit's all rolled into 3 minutes.

Didn´t know Frank Miller had collaborated. Actually the first news I had of it having been done was a banner in a bus stop I saw a couple of weeks ago, which is rather clumsy of me. I guess that they´ll have used the great format that Lars von Trier employed in Europe, Europe, which included the clashing and effective flood of red blood against the black and white background.

After all this comments it will be even more interesting to go and watch it (will have to start saving me money for that!)

Nah the couldt possibly show the best bits in an advert not for a 12a film anyway

Each to their own some will like others wont. If you can't tell I loved it in fact its probably my favourite film.

Can't wait to see it even more now after this thread.

IIRC Frank Miller was involved so much he was given the co-director title

Its the most refreshing thing to hit the big screen for a long time. Probably has more impact for fans (like me) as they have totally captured the comic. Forget Spiderman/Daredevil/F4 etc. this is how it should be done.

It's certainly a bit different.

I'd never heard of Sin City until I watched the movie, so perhaps some of it is lost on me.

The colour effects are strange; black and white, with hints of other important colours ('gold', yellow, red and more white).

Elijah Wood plays a very, erm, 'different' part to usual (although quite cool). Clive Owen also does a great impersonation of Nicholas Cage too!

Overall it's a good movie, but perhaps not to a style that I prefer.

Credits say "Shot and Cut by Robert Rodriguez", not quite as cool as the "Shot, Chopped and Scored by Robert Rodriguez" used in 'Once Upon A Time In Mexico'!!!

saw it again last night..

Fabulous movie....but a warning..!!!

went with brother, his fiancee, mate and my wife...

Boys loved it... Girls came out traumatized.

They thought it was too violent.

My wife thought it was so bad that she couldnt get

into the stories (which are terrific).

Id be interested to hear the PH "dame's" opinion.!
