CRV 2007 battery keep draining out - HELP

Hi,

Never had so many issue with the same car on a such short time.

3 week ago battery drained out after few day of not using and thought battery was gone. Replaced the battery but after 2 weeks I'm on the same position.

Battery completely died. I have been told is the A/c relay and removed it but the battery from almost died keept draining out.

What else can be?

Maybe worth checking that there's no interior lights staying on?

I had this last year and it was a light in the boot that wouldn't switch off. Ended up pulling the bulb as I couldn't find why it wasn't switching off.

Could be any part of the cars electrical system!

Alternator tested and working correctly?

Yes, alternator seems to be working fine. with the engine on I can read 13.70v on the battery and I assume works fine.

I removed the A/C relay and lost into somewhere into the engine.

Can I run the car without the relay till I get to buy a new one or I will cause some issue?

Battery drain can be tricky to fix Giannir, however you have already wasted your cash on a new battery, then lost your aircon relay, you also think the alternator is ok as it produces current, it may also have a faulty diode.

Please go to someone who knows how to check for parasitic voltage drain and pay them to find whats wrong, it will be cheaper and quicker!

Maybe check if any courtesy lights are staying on first as another poster suggested.

Two things are known to drain the batteries on 2007 ish CRV. One, as mentioned by a previous poster is the Bluetooth module located on the drivers side of the central console, down in the footwell. Simple push/pull connector. Module is several hundred pounds to replace from Honda. Second is the A/c fuse relay, under the fuse box front right side of the engine compartment. The relay stops working so the air con draws current constantly. A few pounds to replace. My CRV had both issues. Good luck

jinxed !! Just had to disconnect my Bluetooth due to battery drain . Plus if you run without ac relay it will put pgm fi light up.

Hi All, my Honda CRV 2007 has this parasitic drain, removed ac relay,checked lights and stereo. Replaced battery. Did disconnecting the Bluetooth work? I don’t want to sell it 😞

Check for parasitic drain using a multimeter before and after disconnecting the module. Should indicate whether it’s the cause.

Yes tried multimeter but it didn’t show anything unusual, believe it’s intermittent drain. It’s a nightmare!

That really sounds like the A/C relay because it sticks periodically but you say you have removed that? Is it worth £27 quid to put a new one in?

Yes removed relay and the battery went flat... I’m reduced to disconnecting battery when I’m home. Need to get this fixed before I stop working from home. Electrical technician has no idea other than strip the inside of the car?

Its the bluetooth unit, my honda Accord 2008 had the same problem, disconnected it , no more drain. Its a known problem.

agreed ..disconnect the Bluetooth.. Next to your left leg as you sit in the drivers seat

BTW a mates Dad has a 2008 Civic Hybrid that keeps flattening its battery, we don’t think it has a Bluetooth module but can’t be certain, anyone have any ideas please?
