Hi boys and girls, I'm a fairly new convert to the Lotus Elise and this is my first post here. I'm looking for some advice, I have an S2 (51 plate) and need to know how to remove the badly faded nose badge on the front clam? I thought thet were stuck on but mine (its plastic) seems to have two studs. Is there an easy way to get it off? I have a lovely new shiney enamel badge just waiting to go on.

Cheers

Hi ignore that great big yellow thing if it is the plastic type they are only stuck on,gently ease up and with sharp blade cut the double sided tape away then clean up with tar and glue remover,or you can try heating with heat gun or hair drier to soften glue.either way its pain in the arse of a job.good luck

if it's glued on warm it up a little then dental floss behind the badge, gently does it. no experience with lotus's though.

Nose badge feel the force!!

Thanks guys for your replies, I have tried the hairdryer and dental floss thing but that did not do the trick, maybe need to get some more heat or a sharp blade in as suggested. One way or another its got to go before Castle Combe on Saturday!

This was suggested on SELOC earlier today - there's an exact same thread on there too. Perhaps check and see responses?

Ermm.. if it is an early car , they were indeed fastened with 2 studs and bolts. Its a clam off job to remove. Thats why it sucks when the chavs try to nick the badge as they crack the clam and it ends with a £1200+ repair.
Save yourself the hassle and replace with a stick on so all it is is a badge for a few quid that gets nicked
