Cardiff Remaps
Discussion
Hi all
Don’t suppose anyone has used Cardiff Remaps? I’ve spoke to the chap about remapping my AMG and he seems to know what’s hes talking about.. and had done some nice cars but doesn’t seem to special in anyone thing if that makes sense.
They are situated in the industrial estate off Penarth road where the Porsche dealer is, under the bypass.
Otherwise it’s a trip to someone like DMS / MSL.l who charge double/triple which I don’t mind but it’s nice to keep the business local if I can.
All feedback welcome
Irfan

I don't have any experience of the company you mention, but can thoroughly recommend Indigo-GT in Ystrad Mynach.
I did contact these but they never returned to me after two phone calls when they wanted to look into it further so I gave upCan't pass comment on Cardiff Remaps but I know several people speak highly of Nate @ Performance Engineering, he's located in a unit nr. Ocean Way. He used to work for Revo so could be worth a call.
Personally, I would always take my car to a specialist - my Golf R has been to both R-Tech & MCR Tuning. When the car has a substancial value I always prefer to put my trust in companies who specialise in the marque/model. Of course, this is just my opinion.
Best of luck and report back with the findings and figures

They did a dpf and egr delete on our Audi but I didn't bother with a remap, no issues at all a year later.
They were good to deal with and reasonable cost wise, the premesis they have isn't anything special but always seem to have something nice they are working on.
This was when they were based opposite A and A tyres.
I've heard good reports about Avon Tuning too.

Hear very good reports about Avon and they did a great job on a DPF fix for me. Indigo have also been around a good few years now - might be worth persisting if their engineering knowledge and long term experience is better than their 'hot lead' business basics!
+1 from Avon for me. They did an excellent job on my old car and I’m looking forward to having my new one done thereI was going to post a huge post about remaps but will keep it short and sweet, most of these companies that have popped up last 5 years or so will be buying cheap files (usually about £50 a go) and selling them on to you for £150-300, they might advertise them as custom but they wont be.
I'd rather take a "generic" file from a tuning company like APR/REVO/MRC/Polestar etc than a "Custom" file from a man with a van.

That's my feeling too, unless you can find someone who you can believe / trust knows what they are doing, e.g Shark (RIP)I'd rather take a "generic" file from a tuning company like APR/REVO/MRC/Polestar etc than a "Custom" file from a man with a van.
