F06/10/12 power increase

Hi all,

Has anyone here got any experience with running higher than standard power? I've been looking at Evolve's site and the JB4 looks interesting due to the wider range of options that seem to be available (selectable maps, boost limiting on lower gears etc). On previous cars I have only ever gone for a simple re-flash, and that was my first instinct with this car (M6 GC Comp).

I'm also wondering a) how useable is the extra power (I'm only looking at stage one) and b) if anyone has done significant miles without issue etc.

Any info appreciated.

Do you currently own an M6/M5? The last thing I thought mine needed was more power. More traction and more/better sound, yes! But power was plenty, and this was using it regularly on the autobahn

Fair! Yes, I've had the car about 6 weeks. It certainly isnt wanting for power but I quite like the idea of having more available in higher gears. No point in first or second for sure.

Likewise people considering mapping the current M5 which is ballistic from the factory! Evolve have one running about 750hp apparently!

I had my M6 GC stage 2 mapped in 2016 at DMS with a few other chaps on here with M5s too.

It was dyno'd at 725bhp and I beat evolve's M5 at Vmax to be the fastest 4 door and fastest BMW on the day! (193mph official, still pulling like a train)

It had 1500 miles when mapped and 18000 when sold, zero issues. One of the F10 M5 guys did well over 50k mapped no issues.

Anyone who says they have enough power hasn't been in a mapped one. It's not about launch speed, but in gear 3rd and 4th are just bonkers and the mid range torque is neck bending.

Laugh out loud "Deranged" as Evo said about DMS M5....
