I was doing some reading into remaps and the limits of some of the gearboxes of these cars. In the case of the A6 4F, the gearbox used is the ZF6HP19A, which apparently is the 4WD version of the box, rated at 295 lb-ft/400nm of torque. In the case of the 3.0TDI in the facelift, that engine produces about 369 lb-ft of torque, but uses the same gearbox. Even the 3.0T is rated at 310 lb-ft/420nm of torque.

Based off these figures, a slight remap on any of those cars isn't going to help the gearbox as apparently they are already over the torque limit. But, they are running standard torque limits that are past the limits of the gearbox anyway. Is there some trickery/physics involved in the transfer box or differential that allows for these figures to run?

Not Audi's, but there's a wave of golf R's and Cupra's munching their gearboxes sub 20k miles.

Mine was one of them.

The DSG boxes do seem to have higher torque limits, but there isn't a huge margin. Surprised to hear it about the Golf R however, is it the MK 6 or 7 which has the DSG issues?

The clutches are crap as well, my 2015 TT 2.0 TFSI needed a new one at just 15k miles. The car hadn't been abused and I've never experienced similar with any other cars.

I've driven loads of low mileage VAG cars where the clutch judders when cold.

So yes, they're crap.

VW/Audi will try to tell you it's normal.

Shout loud enough, you may get them to replace it.
