E34 BMW 525i Sport
Discussion
I have seen one of these for sale that I quite like the look of.
Has anyone got any info on things to watch out for?
It is a 1995 model so I believe this has the M50 engine with the timing chain? (correct me if I am wrong!).
Also, does anyone have any experience of Specialist Cas, Unit 16, Centre Park, Marston Business Park, Rudgate, Tockwith, York YO26 7QF?

That is who is selling the car, but they are 150 miles away so any info I can get is greatly appreciated.
Feel free to email me on steven@stevenhedley.co.uk rather than put anything on this post if it could be incriminating
Any info on either topic would be much appreciated.
Kinda looking forward to an E34 5series after just selling my highly modded Prelude 2.2 VTEC - should be quite a different car to drive!!
Cheers,
Steven.

it is the timing chain engine, and it'll be 24v so ok till 3400 rpm then it goes much better(192bhp).
the wiper racks wear out and then the wipers hit the bonnet (a new rack is 300 quid), look for corrosion on the boot above the no plate, they're galvanised but do tend to go there.
its a heavy car and the do use suspension bushes, and brakes, and tyres. so look for clonks and rattles
i've had my 525 (93) for nearly three years now, which is the longest i've ever kept anything. Its got 140000 miles on it, is utterly reliable and fast ish.
just make sure its been serviced properly, and remember that they're fairly tail happy and wont like snow (i live in NE Scotland)

similar to "Speed addicted" ive had my 535i (e34) for about 4 years and its been fantastic. its stopped me buying a new car as its been so damned reliable.
