Wonder if anyone can shed some light on this. I'm trying to buy a new Audi-A5 which needs to be factory ordered BUT Audi has not been accepting any orders since 6 March as according to a conversation I had with Audi UK "Our model year 2019 production list is full" and they have no idea when that will change.

I find that very, very strange but I'm not a motoring expert. Does anyone have any views on what that means and how long it would take to change?

Thanks - do you have any idea how long it normally takes for them to re-open ordering? I find this all very strange - surely a company like VW can figure out what they are going to build next before they stop taking orders?

I believe MY20 is from Week 23 builds so I would assume the order book would open again very soon.

Production planning, advising suppliers of volumes, retailer contracts are done a long time in advance.

So it's not as easy as "turn the tap up/down a bit

Still waiting.... That's 2 months now that they haven't accepted any orders. Weird.
