With regards to Montoya; how long was his contract at McLaren for? His injury may well have been down to an unlucky tennis match, but his career isn't progressing very nicely at McLaren now is it?

He - as everyone observed when it was announced he would drive for Dennis - is the opposite of the archetypal McLaren driver surely.

Ive grown tired of Montoya. Used to be a big fan of his but he just seems like a cocky tw@t that has bitten off more than he can chew in the form of a certain finn.

He will have the odd day at mclaren - the car is immense, but he cant hold it over a season like kimi can.

Lookin forward to seeing how quickly he comes thru the field tho!

in his defence, he had a good race although given his car he should have been racing for the lead

against: I was going to suggest he be 'rested' while he sorts his head out. McLaren need points from BOTH drivers if they're to win the constructors championship

Back of the grid to 5th ! At Monaco ! I'd call that a magnificent performance.

& if Alonso had been given a stop go penalty for gaining advantage when Webber was trying to pass him at the chicane after the tunnel & then Webber been given same for cutting over the circuit a lap later to gain advantage, Montoya would have been on the podium. From the back of the grid !

Yeh, definately a good race from JPM... but, if he hadn't been playing silly buggers in practice what might he have achieved?

Well said. Yeah he drove a good recovery, but thats exactly what it was: a recovery drive after being a tit in practice.

If he could concentrate on his own performance and save the physcological crap til race day he would do much better. Why bother playin games with Ralf anyway? They arent team mates anymore and montoyas car is in another league to the toyota - he had nothin to gain other than boosting his inflated ego by putting one over ralf.

The guy has always been an overrated clown. He crashed his way through most of his competitors in F3000 so people should have known what they were getting. IMHO he will never win the World Championship all the time he has a hole in his backside.

Last to 5th is great but if he had been 5th would he have got any higher, I doubt it. When you are at the back of the grid you haven't got a lot to lose.....

Particularly at Monaco: if you trip over somebody trying to get past everyone just nods sagely and blames the circuit. But Heidfeld and (sort of) Trulli proved that you can pass at Monaco, if you're clever, committed and lucky.
