Here's a question for the hardcore GT fans out there.

Whilst talking about something the other day Ralph Schumacher's name cropped up in the conversation - which got me thinking (which is never a good thing...) that I remember watching a GT race on TV back in the mid/late 90's just before Ralph went into F1.

He was racing a Merc CLK GTR in the FIA GT's (I think Alex Wurz might have been with Merc too..) on a street circuit - I remember high fencing and bugger all run-off area.

Now I know it wasn't Monaco (don't remember GT's racing there - but correct me if I'm wrong ;) ) - does anyone know where this might have been??

I have no specific reason for asking - just that it's starting to bug me!!

Cheers

Chris

Zhuhai in China and Helsinki were both used in the mid-nineties for FIA GT rounds. This was around the time that the Merc CLKs (Schneider, Ludwig, Webber etc)were racing the Fina McLarens (JJ, Soper etc) and works Porsche GT1s.

Don't recall Ralf racing in GT though...

Could have been Helsinki - Ralph only made 1 or 2 appearance's in the Merc's (fairly sure).

Ralf Schumacher only had one appearance in FIA-GT. That was in 1997 at Spa-Francorchamps in a Mercedes CLK GTR together with Klaus Ludwig.
Technically, Spa is a street circuit. During the winter months parts of the curcuit (Francorchamps - Malmedy) are open for public traffic.
